The majority of summers up until this point in my life have been slow and peaceful, even with work and internships, there has always been time for rest and relaxation, but it appears that this summer is becoming increasingly hectic as the months progress. Training, travel, packing, moving, music, meetings, orientations, leaving jobs, finding new ones, catching up on esoteric films so I don't seem like a dimwit at film school, and basically trying to get my life together, is all very time consuming. Not that I'm complaining; I'm looking forward to doing the majority of these things (perhaps not the packing so much, or leaving people I love), but it seems that everything must now be planned out to the very hour or I will risk not being able to do everything that I want to do.
I am used to a certain amount of leniency from June to August in my personal life; taking time for little adventures, family, and friends (my professional life is another story entirely, a stage managers mentality has been engrained in my head. Thank you J. Forbes). I am longing for the day that I have no plans and can do something completely spur of the moment and perhaps take a little more time to get ready in the morning. However, until then, simplicity is as simplicity does, especially in my wardrobe. Complexity will have to be saved for another day and for now simple over shirts, leggings, tights, and sweet summer dresses are my best friends.
Outfit Details: Chambray Shirt: Thrifted. Leggings: Gap. Earrings: Vintage. Ring: Mom Made. Boots: American Eagle.
I can't wait to tell you all a little bit about my week in New York City. I had a wonderful time although the training was exhausting and therefore photos are lacking, but I found some new places that I want to share with you all! Including, but not limited to, a pie shop with the best pie I have ever tasted, and I mean ever tasted, a fantastic excursion in the East Village, and a delicious Vegan Restaurant that serves massive portions, but leaves you feeling light as air. Thank you, as always, for reading! More to come soon!
